Foundation Mercurius communication through art, celebrates 10 year existence in Amsterdam

On February 13th Maui Reple and Harry van Gestel, the founders of the Foundation Mercurius, communication through art/GAIA Gallery of Art, will celebrate 10 year existence  at the Torensteeg 3 in Amsterdam. The Foundation is located in the GAIA Gallery of Art. The gallery has an international clientèle. In honour of the jubileum Foundation Mercurius – GAIA Gallery of Art presents the works by the Italian/Brazilian artist  Maui Reple from 10th Janaury 2008.

The Foundation Mercurius, communication through art raises funds to enable eduction for street children and children from slums. The funds are mainly used for children in Bahia, Brazil. Maui Reple orgines from Brazil and he travels between Holland and Brasil to ensure that the funds generated are used in a right way. Money is spent on for example clay ovens, teaching materials to teach children to realise their own income as a potter.

The Foundation also donates several art pieces for charity auctions such as “ BIO-revalidatie, de Nierstichting, CliniClowns, Tsunami victms in India, Soham-baba Mission, “Novos Rumos” – São Paulo BR, “Cáritas” – Louveira SP Brazil” and other. “By sharing our art with others we create possibilities for other people”, is the reply of Maui and Harry. In recent years  € 35.000,00  was raised through auctions for charity organisations.
